TDI O2 Service Technician
The TDI Oxygen (O2) Equipment Service Technician Course allows candidates the ability to engage in the preparation of scuba equipment for the use and exposure of oxygen and other mixed gasses used in technical diving. This is the perfect course for the dive shop employee wanting to learn the proper procedures for handling and servicing equipment or a diver interested in the process of advanced level equipment cleaning, servicing, and care. The objective of this course is to train candidates in the proper procedures required for oxygen equipment cleaning.
This course may be combined with the Visual Inspection Procedures course at the discretion of the Instructor.
The Training
The TDI O2 Service Technician Course includes two parts:
- Home study – once you have signed up for the course, we will provide you a manual in advance of your practical training to work through at home, covering areas such as:

- Oxygen handling
- Equipment servicing and materials used in oxygen clean systems
- Procedures of oxygen cleaning
- Gas production equipment
- Classroom + practical training – After reviewing the key knowledge areas with your instructor in the classroom, including reviewing the key mathematical formulas will you complete the practical element of your training including:

- Servicing of cylinder valves and regulators for enriched air nitrox
- Cylinder handling and sign out
- Oxygen analysis
- Mixing techniques
Pre-requisites
- Age: 18 years old and above
- TDI Nitrox Gas Blender and above, or equivalent, from an alternative agency
- Visual Inspection Procedures certification through a recognised agency
- Employment through a recognized scuba related facility, manufacturer/ distributor or proof of intent to acquire such employment
