The TDI Divemaster Course is the first professional level certification in the TDI leadership levels. During this course you will be challenged and learn what it is like to work with divers as they begin or continue their technical diving experiences. You will learn how to manage divers, work as land or boat support, and conduct enjoyable dives. Dive physics, physiology, how to conduct a pre-dive briefing, how to assist technical instructors as well as how to be a professional TDI Divemaster is all part of the course. Your skills will be refined to demonstration quality and your knowledge increased to that of a technical diving professional.

The Training

The TDI Divemaster includes multiple aspects of training including

  • Knowledge development – Once you have signed up for the course we will provide you with an online code enabling you to study the core competencies including areas such as:
    • The differences between a recreational and technical dive leader
    • Personal and professional dive skills
    • Diving physiology
    • Dive management
  • Water based training development: Throughout your training you will spend time with different instructors, developing not only your personal dive skills but also learning supervision techniques, defensive teaching and conducting briefings. These areas will include the following plus many others:
    • Pre and post technical dive briefings
    • Preparation, planning and control of technical dives
    • Demonstration quality technical dive skills

Pre-requisites

  • Age: 18 years and above
  • SDI Divemaster (equivalent ratings from other agencies are not accepted for this TDI Divemaster prerequisite. Candidates must crossover to SDI prior to the TDI Divemaster course)
  • Provide proof of current CPR, first aid and O2 provider
  • Provide proof of a minimum of 50 logged dives on enrollment 
  • Certified as technical diver for which they are applying as a TDI Divemaster in
  • Have a current medical examination signed by a licensed physician within the past 12 months

If you are not current in status with SDI/TDI – an annual membership fee will also be required – please contact us for further information

If crossing over/upgrading from SDI Divemaster and you are in status, a one off upgrade fee of €55 is required
