SDI ADVANCED ADVENTURE DIVER CERTIFICATION

So you have completed your SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course but now you’ve got the diving bug and are itching to expand your knowledge and dive skills. The SDI Advanced Adventure Diver Course is just what you are looking for!
The SDI Advanced Adventure course will give you an overview of five different SDI specialties. Two of the required specialties are the Deep Diver and Navigation Diver specialties which are the foundation of continuing diver education, the others are a personal choice based on whatever peaks your interest.
Following this course you will be able to dive to 30 meters anywhere in the world, if under the age of 15 then maximum allowable depth following this course is 21 meters.
The Training
The SDI Advanced Adventure Diver course includes two parts:
- Online learning – once you have signed up for the course we will provide you with an online code enabling you to study the 2 core sections plus the 3 of your choice, ready for your practical training.
- 5 Open Water Dives –
- Deep – Conducted on the world famous Zenobia wreck just a 5 minute boat ride from the dive center, you will learn how to safely plan and conduct a deep dive, alongside the set up and use of required equipment.
- Navigation – Here we will put your compass skills to the test, navigating both square and triangle patterns both on the surface and underwater in order to assist in future dive planning and ability to safely navigate more complex dive sites.

- The final 3 dives are a personal choice based on your own interests, however we strongly recommend the following:
- Advanced Buoyancy Control – Gain a greater understanding of the factors influencing buoyancy, streamline your profile, conserve air and get more enjoyment out of your diving as a result!
- Boat Diver – Improve your boat diving entry and exit techniques, correct etiquette along with some inside safety knowledge.
- Computer Nitrox Diver – Spend more time at the interesting stuff! See how diving nitrox can give you greater flexibility when dive planning and getting the most out of every dive!
- Night and Low Visibility Diver – With unique procedures for diving in these conditions, this will introduce you to the use of dive lights, navigation and communication when the lights go out!
- Wreck Diver – With some obvious hazards involved, this will introduce you to the safe techniques and additional equipment required when conducting dives around some of the most amazing underwater architecture on our house wreck – the Zenobia!
- The final 3 dives are a personal choice based on your own interests, however we strongly recommend the following:
Pre-requisites
- Age: 10 years and above
- SDI Open Water Scuba Diver and above, or equivalent, from an alternative agency
- Good physical health
