PADI TEC TRIMIX

Ready for the outer edge of technical diving? The Tec Trimix Diver course takes experienced TEC divers and turns them into extreme divers who go deeper and visit pristine sites where few others will ever go. During the course, you’ll make dives as deep as 90 metres/300 feet, but once you earn this tough certification, there are few limits. Your training teaches you to build experience gradually and you do it because you’ve made it this far and have more exploring to do.

The Training

The PADI TEC Trimix course includes three parts:

  • Knowledge Development – Once you have signed up for the course, we will provide you with a manual to read and complete the relevant knowledge reviews before your practical training. Your instructor will then review this and go into further detail in the classroom covering topics such as:
    • Gas selection options
    • Bubble models
    • Using multi-gas trimix computers
    • Handling up to 4 decompression cylinders
  • Confined Water Training – After all the gear is set up, it’s time to get wet! Starting in a calm shallow water environment, your instructor will spend time going through emergency shutdown drills, simulated decompression plans and equipment configuration.
  • Open Water Dives – Over the course of 4 days you will then complete 7 additional dives in multiple tank configurations, repeating and expanding on the skills from confined water to make them fluid whilst progressing to more complex decompression plans. You will also cover the following skills and drills within your training:
    • Dive and exposure planning
    • Gas switching and staging multiple gas procedures
    • Emergency procedures
    • Handling up to 4 decompression cylinders
