PADI TEC TRIMIX 65

If you’re into technical diving then you know that to extend your depth range you need to use trimix – a blend of helium, oxygen and nitrogen. The Tec Trimix 65 course introduces you to using trimix down to a maximum depth of 65 metres/210 feet. There are advantages to using three gases, but you need to know how to do it right. Earning the Tec Trimix 65 certification makes deeper exploration a reality.

The Training

The PADI TEC Trimix 65 course includes three parts:

  • Knowledge Development – Once you have signed up for the course, we will provide you with a manual to read and complete the relevant knowledge reviews before your practical training. Your instructor will then review this and go into further detail in the classroom covering topics such as:
    • Exposure planning
    • Decompression planning, software and multi-gas computers
    • Selecting a mix
    • Argon inflation systems
  • Confined Water Training – After all the gear is set up, it’s time to get wet! Starting in a calm shallow water environment, your instructor will spend time going through emergency shutdown drills, simulated decompression plans and equipment configuration.
  • Open Water Dives – Over the course of 4 days you will then complete 4 additional dives in multiple tank configurations, repeating and expanding on the skills from confined water to make them fluid whilst progressing to more complex decompression plans. You will also cover the following skills and drills within your training:
    • Wrong gas switch drills
    • Gas switching and staging multiple gas procedures
    • Emergency procedures
    • Handling multiple decompression cylinders
