DAN Medical Oxygen Rebreather

DAN Medical Oxygen Rebreather course is an additional training module for those individuals who have successfully completed the DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries course within the past year (12 months). It is designed to train DAN Oxygen Providers to recognise diving injuries where the MO2R System will be an effective method of providing emergency oxygen first aid and how to assemble and provide emergency oxygen first aid using a MO2R System.

Training

  • Knowledge Development – Once you have signed up for the course, we will provide you with a digital CD manual to read and complete the relevant knowledge reviews before your practical training
  • Classroom and practical training.  At the end of this programme participants will learn to demonstrate skill and confidence in completing the following skills:
  • Scene assessment and oxygen provider safety
  • Deployment and operation of the DAN Oxygen Unit
  • Decision-making: When to use the MO2R
  • Identification of the main component parts of the MO2R
  • Set-up of the MO2R System
  • Operation of the MO2R System

Prerequisites

Student level:

  • A DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries or equivalent qualification is required

Instructor level:

  • The Instructor Candidate must have completed the Instructor Qualification course (IQC) and:
  • Be a certified and active scuba diving Instructor (or Divemaster/Assistant Instructor with current CPR training)
  • Be a current DAN Medical Oxygen Rebreather provider
  • Have current training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Have documentation of first aid training
  • Be a current DAN Member
