SDI Search and Recovery Diver

This specialty is designed to acquaint the diver with special skills and techniques necessary to successfully plan, execute and evaluate a search and recovery dive.

How do I begin?

You start with the training materials. We will provide you with an SDI Search and Recovery diver manual so you can do all your studying before you start diving.

What's in the course?

The SDI Search and Recovery Diver Course takes an in-depth look at all of the following and more:

  • Navigation
  • Natural navigation
  • Limited visibility diving
  • Search techniques
  • Salvage techniques

How long does it take?

The SDI Search and Recovery course takes about 1 day (2 dives)

What qualifications do I need?

SDI Open Water Scuba Diver, SDI Junior Open Water Scuba Diver, or equivalent, or current enrolment in one of those courses.

The minimum age of enrolment on this programme is 15yrs

You will need to fill out a self certification medical statement. If you have any medical conditions you think may prevent you from scuba diving please feel free to contact us and we will try to be of assistance.
