How do I begin?

You start with the training materials. We will provide a PADI Underwater Navigation manual. By studying before class, you'll be better prepared to start practising your navigational skills when you meet with your PADI Instructor.

What's in the course?

  • Methods to estimate distance underwater.
  • Compass navigation while making at least five turns.
  • Marking or relocating a submerged object or position from the surface.
  • Underwater map making.

Also, the first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor about earning credit.

How long does it take?

The PADI Underwater Navigator speciality takes place over 2days.

What qualifications do I need?

The PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent is the prerequisite for the PADI Underwater Navigator course.
