Whether it's a missing o-ring, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, the PADI Equipment Specialist course teaches you to manage basic repairs and adjustments (It is not an equipment repair programme). You'll also learn more about how your gear works, making you more comfortable with it and better prepared to take care of your investment. As it doesn't involve diving it is ideal to do on you air day at the end of your holiday.

What's in the course?

You'll learn about routine care and maintenance procedures as well as scuba equipment storage recommendations. Your instructor will show you how to overcome some common equipment problems and offer equipment configuration suggestions.

How long does it take?

The PADI Equipment Specialty takes place over one day.

What qualifications do I need?

The PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent is the prerequisite for the PADI Equipment Specialist course.

The minimum age of enrolment on this programme is 10yrs.

What's next?

This Specialty also counts as one of the five Specialties required toward your Master Scuba Diver certification.

Once you have completed five PADI specialties and your PADI Rescue Diver and have 50 logged dives you hold all the prerequisites for the PADI Master Scuba Diver certification. This is the highest non-professional rating in the PADI system of diver education.
